So I've had a lot of people tell me that they want to see pictures of Scott's fingers. Here's my disclaimer...these pictures are kinda gruesome.

An Exciting Tuesday
I was warned when Scott and I got engaged. He has a record of trips to the ER and between him and his brother, his family was on the ER's christmas card mailing list.
I was also a witness to when he took out his top knuckle on his left hand middle finger with a table saw when we were "hanging out." I don't know why I thought I was safe..but I think that making it 2 1/2 years into our marriage with out a hospital visit is pretty good compared to his track record.
Last Tuesday, Scott was working in Anchorage at an apartment fixing a door casing. Somehow in the midst of trimming the casing, his fingers got snagged. He clipped all of his fingers on his right hand except his middle finger. We thought that was kind of odd but intriguing. How do you hit all but your middle finger? It's longer than all the other fingers and not to state the obvious but in the middle of all the other fingers! But o well, he did miss his middle finger. Luckily this time, he didn't cut any bone. He took a chunk out of his thumb pad, a diagonal cut on his index finger, the nail and part of nail bed of his ring finger and the tip of his pinky.
While my husband was busy cutting the tissue of his fingers and spending time in the ER, I was at school meeting the author of Fablehaven. Brandon Mull came to Shaw. He is a delightful guy and really laid back. I even got to take a picture with him after his school wide presentation.
Aw...me being blissfully unaware that my husband was on his way home from Anchorage after having another disagreement with a table saw.
Scott has been keeping his hand elevated and we've been making daily trips to Blockbuster. (We only get 3 channels and there's really not much to watch during the day!) So far we (when I'm not at school) have watched about 5 national geographic movies, Secretariat, Life As We Know It, all three Lord of the Rings, The Social Network and other ones that I can't remember anymore. And we're only on day 2 of not working for Scott.
He may try to go back to work next week, we'll just have to wait and see how he's feeling.

Full Circle Farms
Fresh fruits and vegetables are kind of hard to come by up here in the Last Frontier in the winter. Not only are they hard to come by, the ones you do find are expensive and maybe not the best quality. Nicole and I heard about a thing called Full Circle Farms and decided to try it. What it is is a collaboration of organic farms, mainly Full Circle Farm in Washington, and they put together boxes of veggies and fruits and send them up once a week, or every other week, whichever you want. Nicole and I decided to go into it together and split the box. We also decided to just try it out for about 2-3 times, getting a box every other week. We got our 1st box! Here is mine and Scott's half:
We got a good mix of veggies and fruits. We got a mango! Scott didn't think that it'd be a good but he was pleasantly surprised!
So far we have received 2 boxes. The produce has been decent but I'm not sure if we're going to keep going with it. We'll see but for now, I'll enjoy my fruit :)

More Christmas Break Pictures
I finally got more pictures from Christmas break...(the pictures off my old camera since I got a new one for Christmas :)
Enjoy!
Neeley, Richard, Scott and I hanging out in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building waiting for Mike and Kate's luncheon. The gorgeous Christmas tree in the background and quartet playing music.
Ryan, Simon, Scott and I at the Gateway waiting for the reception to start.
Simon and Ryan thought they could blow out the fire that ran by gas.
The cast of Santa's Elves. Aren't they just adorable?
Go Aggies!!
The Gossner Classic...it was actually a pretty boring game and we left during the 4th quarter since they were up by 40ish. But I was there, supporting my Alma Mater and doing the Scotsman!
Thanksgiving and More
For Thanksgiving this year Scott and I had a fun filled week. First off, school was cancelled due to freezing rain Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That gave us more time to spend together and able to make all our pies for our two pie nights! This was the first time we had made these pies on our own. We had a night of pie with some friends from church and another night with Kesa and Paul and some of their friends. Both nights were fun and filled with lots of pies :)
For actual Thanksgiving Day, we went with Kesa, Paul and Kyran to one of their friend's home and had a great meal with some great people. After dinner and some football we took off and drove to Kenai. Scott gets to go there all the time because of work but this time I got to go too. Scott did some work and I chilled in the hotel room and drove around the town. I got Scott to finally come down to the water with me since he had never went
We also went to a libretto (play told in song) called King Island Christmas. It's about the small village on King Island (up in the Northwestern part of Alaska) and how they depended on a ship to bring their priest and supplies to survive until spring. It was a really fun :) Scott wasn't too keen about the singing the whole but he didn't know that when he said that he'd go with me and three co-workers.
One other thing that we've done was a quick drive out to Talkeetna (about 2 hours away). Its just a back country town that doesn't have much but if you're going to climb Mt. McKinley you have to go through there. There was a Wilderness Woman contest where women would carry pail of water, shoot guns, chop firewood and other stuff. We were there before it all started but it was fun to hear about it. Also they do a Bachelor Auction... all the money goes to charities up there and all that is required from the auction is a drink and a dance but we were told that there have been marriages and babies from the auction. It'd be a funny thought to have a kid say "Ya, my mom bought my dad at an auction." ha ha. It was a good day trip with some pretty scenery.
Us with our pies: Chocolate pudding, Grasshopper, Pecan, Caramel Apple Pecan and Butterscotch

I told Scott to "pet" the husky since I kissed the moose and this is what he did. Lame-o but I still love him.

Christmas Break!
Scott and I just got back from a great vacation. I sent a couple of mini-blogs from my phone while we were on it but now for a complete update :)
First, we flew into Boise, picked up my dad's truck and drove to Boise after hanging out with Kayla and CJ for a night. Saturday we went to Mike and Katie's wedding. It was a great day! Luckily for them it was too cold, just kind of chilly. We are so excited our two friends and the journey they are starting!
After the wedding, Scott and I had a week in Cache Valley to hang out with the family and catch up with friends. We went to Santa's Elves (what an adorable show!), ate out at some places we missed, Fredrico's and Pounders being at the top of the list, and just hung out. Oh, and Scott had fun playing with his remote controlled 4-wheeler that he's had since he was like 14. The boys that his mom tends LOVED it! Scott built jumps and everything!
Christmas was a great day! We started out the morning in Trenton. After a good morning with all of Scott's family and talking to Todd on the phone (he's on a mission in Jacksonville, Florida) we headed to Oregon. We got there and had Christmas when my family. Then we headed to Aunt Duie's for Christmas with my mom's side of the family. I love being around family for the holidays! I'm really glad that even though it's kind of far, we're able to be with both families on Christmas day.
Then we had another week in Ontario. It was pretty low key. Lots of family time and some friends mixed in there. Ontario Fire Station #2 had its ribbon cutting ceremony. Mom had surgery to get her gall bladder removed on the Wednesday so that wasn't fun for her but everything went well and she's back to normal :) We also had family pictures taken and I love pictures! I'm excited to be able to see them in a few days. New Year's Eve we just stayed low key and watched a couple of movies and chilled. Then the Sunday before I had school we flew back to Alaska.
It was a great trip. It was so nice to be back among family and friends. Hurray for a refreshing and fun vacation! :)
Some pictures are on my other camera so I'll add more later...
