Happy Halloween!

I went through a few different options for our Halloween costumes this year. Being a teacher at a school that actually celebrates the holiday kind of puts a little pressure on you to think of something cute or easy to wear that day. Also, going to the ward "Trunk or Treat" gets you thinking about dressing up.

My first idea was to be an alevin for school. Let me guess, you just said "A what?" That is the exact reason I decided not to be an alevin. (By the way, it is what a baby salmon is called right after it hatches from its egg. It is a big, bright orange yolk sac attached to its tummy. I thought I could pull that off.)

My idea for Scott and me was to be a Christmas present and a Christmas tree. I would wrap a bow around my tummy with a tag that said "No Peeking" or something like that. We'd cut out a cardboard tree and cover it with fleece and make Scott a tree topper to put on his head. I thought that would be kind of fun since our little girl is due kind of close to Christmas.

Our 4/5 teachers at school finally decided my costume. We started out going with a barnyard theme but that soon morphed into being characters from Charlotte's Web. We had a Fern, Charlotte, Templeton, a Web with Charlotte's babies, and we had me, Wilbur. Yup, I was the piggy. :)

(Insert here a picture of all the 4/5 teachers. I have to get a copy from someone at school.)

Being a pig at school actually ended up working out well because Scott and I could easily work that into a theme for our "Trunk or Treat." We got him a flannel shirt and some overalls. Voila! We had a farmer and his pig(s). I went looking in my bag of stuffed animals for farm animals and could only find pigs. Surprising? Not really, but what kind of farm only has pigs? A PIG FARM! ha ha. Well that's what we went with. The back of our jeep ended up being a little pig farm.
