Keep Up With The Big Kids

Staff from my school have been getting together for hikes this summer. Kasila and I decided to join then on what seemed like a fairly low key hike/walk. It was great to get out and see the beautiful views. Kasila loved the dirt and kids to keep up with. Towards the end there was a hill that the bigger kids started climbing. Kasila would not be left behind and took off after them. She kept at it and eventually, with a little boost, made it to the top. It was so cute to see her excited and yelling "I did it! I did it!"

Daddy's Little Helper

Kasila loves to help! She's also become very independent. Scott has been working on a new area for the swing set, digging out weeds and leveling and bringing in some sand. Kasila decided she needed to use her wheelbarrow and help.

Kasila and I are both blessed by Scott's patience and love. I haven't had a lot of energy and its getting harder to move around. Scott is such a good daddy that he placates her and her want/need to mimic and help, even when it's not the most convenient.

Potty Training take 1

Kasila has been on and off with the idea of potty training. I think part of it has been inconsistency with us not really being home the majority of the day for so many days in a row. She did pretty well last week but this week with girls camp led to not much.

She wanted to put her pull up on all by herself. I'll give her an A for effort.

Today was great! The weather was warm so I put her in regular undies and let her play outside. She did get wet from her wading pool so no guarantee she stayed 'dry' all day but all the she had dry clothes on she stayed dry. We even went for a 20 minute drive and she took a 2 hour nap, all dry. It gives me hope since we'll be able to home most of next week!

Girls' Camp

This past week was girls camp and I was camp director. It was an interesting week being almost 8 months pregnant, but it turned out. Kasila ended up coming out every day due to babysitting and Scott helping out as priesthood. I was a little worried that she would distract the girls, but it turned out OK.

Kasila being a bunny and hopping around.

Sam helped Kasila with her own sharpie art project. :)

We had Chris, a firefighter that is a certified hunters ed instructor, come out and show us the basics. I did a trick shot ha ha. It bounced off the ground, backwards, and stuck the notch into the backside of the target.

Chris was sweet enough to let Kasila shoot when all the girls were done.

Kasila did not want to settle down but she finally gave in while Sam carried her to the next activity.

Swing Set Fun

We are all in love with our swing set! It is a great outlet for Kasila's energy. She is still learned how to pump her legs so we do end up pushing, or pulling, her quite a bit. Scott brought out a tie down and we've been using that, especially with the glider. It gives me an arm workout but I at least don't have to stand there forever.

Flower Planting

Kasila loves flowers! She says they are pretty and wants to touch every flower she sees. I thought she'd like to have her own flowers, so to the garden department we headed. She also seems to have an obsession with the color orange right now. She put those together and the flowers she chose were marigolds. Not necessarily my favorite but at least they are suppose to keep some bugs away. :)
