Kasila really likes music! She sings, she dances, she'll bang the keys of pianos/keyboards, or strum the strings of a ukulele. But sometimes, she just stares at whatever is making the music. Just for some background noise, I went on Netflix and found Disney Silly Symphonies, turned it and and Kasila proceeded to sit down and stare. It was a good 3-4 minutes straight before she really did any moving. Then she got her blanket and settled in.

Baby's Day Out
Kasila had been to our pediatrician office 2 times in the 2 past weeks. Once for her croup and the other for her 15 month wellness visit and shots. At her croup visit, it was a different pediatrician, he brought up her breast buds and their size. Our normal doctor had mentioned them before but wasn't concerned. After the two doctors talked, at her wellness visit, we were asked to take her to a specialist, an endocrinologist, to just make sure that everything was normal. She was born with them and as far as we can tell, they haven't increased in size, but they should have gone away. We got an appointment at the subspecialty office in Anchorage and we made a day out of it.
Scott still had class to attend, so Kasila and I walked around campus while we waited. University of Alaska-Anchorage has a few sky bridges/sky walks between buildings so that you don't have to walk outside. Kasila ran, smiled, and waved at everyone she saw. Eventually, she did become tired and a little grumpy. So we headed back to where Scott's class was and waited in the hall for him. Kasila decided to turn her snacks into a tower. There was also a pretty path through the trees that led to the parking lot. Kasila got a lot of exercise that day for her short little legs!
At the doctor's office, Kasila played some of their toys and watched a little of "The Lion King" while we waited. Once in, the nurse said that she was probably the most easy baby she's ever had to get measurements from. She was really curious about the blood pressure cuff.
Overall, the appointment was a breeze. The doctor took some measurements so that we could document any changes to her breast buds and he checked her for signs of premature puberty, which is pretty rare. He feels that she is fine, but just to be sure, she will have a pelvic ultrasound next Friday. The doctor will look at the ultrasound and then call us. If there's nothing in the ultrasound, then we'll see him in 6 months to check her breast buds.
First Ponytail
She has enough hair for ponytails! Yay! Kasila actually did pretty well at leaving it alone too. As long I didn't do anything to bring attention to it.
We decided to try piggy tails. They lasted most of church, after I fixed them after the car ride there.
Kasila also spent a little bit of time in the nursery at church. She'll be able to go full time in June! It's hard to believe that she is almost nursery age! She did fairly well. She usually falls asleep the last 20 mins or so of church and that is the best time for her to visit. I was told that she played with every toy, looked around for me, then was done. It was a good 15 mins. I think she'll be fine as long as she's not too tired.

Apparently….
…I have not been updating the blog as some would like. :) Sorry! Here are some pictures of what we have been up to this first part of March.
She didn't want to go back to the house.
Walking with Daddy back to the car.
Kasila wasn't too happy about riding the horse.
BFFs
Sharing Daddy's milkshake
She kept trying to take her temperature…unfortunately, that's an ear thermometer. She did catch on on started putting it in her ear. (She's had croup for that last few days. Poor girl has been a champ through it, even with her being more fussy.)
Another walk to the mailbox.
This is how she plays with her bath toys.
Just chillin' after a hard game :)
Looking darling in her new headband!

February Flew By
If January took forever to get over, February decided to fly by. I'm not complaining though, I'm definitely excited for Spring Break and being that much closer to summer! Here's our month in pictures!
We have a risk taking girl! She also has a pretty good balance.
We continued our walks to the mailbox!
Happy Valentine's Day!
She tripped and fell into a door jam. Her first big bruise.
She got a new Alaskan children's book…and got it signed by one of the authors.
Healthy habits! She loves the 'brush' her teeth. That means that she likes to chew on her toothbrush.
Thought we should show that we do make it to our destination of the mailbox :)
Love my little girl!!

To the Mailbox!
Having the warm weather definitely makes taking little walks to the mailbox with Kasila a much smaller task. Not having to put on snow pants makes such a difference!
She loves to be outside. If we go downstairs, she immediately goes to the door and looks back expectantly. She also likes to walk on the ice and in the puddles if I let her.
The End of January
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm pretty glad that January is finally over! It has been somewhat of a stressful month for us, but we did have some great moments.
It was a lace kind of day…even if you can't see mine very well.
Some of the stress from January was from our fridge going out. We put everything out in coolers on our back deck, which was working great until we began reaching temperatures in the 50s! We had our delivery date scheduled, they showed up 2 hours after the time frame we were told, then they decided that our driveway was too icy to risk backing their truck down, so they left and told us to either get it sanded or wait till the ice was gone. BOO! Scott and I were both fairly ticked off. Luckily, we have some awesome friends that came to our rescue! After a drive to the warehouse in Anchorage, some heavy lifting and directing…we have our new fridge!
Kasila all snuggled in bed.
Apparently, the fork just wasn't working well enough.
Kasila still loves to help with groceries. She dragged her bag all the way up the stairs and into the kitchen.
