January Happenings

Ok so this photo was technically taken in Nov, but I realized I hadn't posted any of the family pictures we took. It was cold and Kasila wasn't super cooperative, but we still got some fairly cute ones.

P.S.  Kasila is going to be a big sister!

Kasila has really taken a liking to her cowgirl hat and her new boots. She wears them all the time!

Learning how to cook. Maybe she'll enjoy it more than I do. Scott enjoys it for the most part so hopefully we can turn it into more of a family activity.

Happy New Year!

Kasila didn't really like the big fireworks.
When neighbors would shoot them off, she would run to one of us and say "Scared! Scared!"
So we just lit a few sparklers and called it good.

Scott later went out on a fire call so at midnight, both us girls were asleep and he was out working.

Speaking of fires that Scott has responded to...

I have been out with a really bad cold this past week. Being pregnant makes it much more difficult to deal with since there's not much that can be done. I took today off which ended up being a good thing. Scott responded to a fire just before 5am and is still currently work the site/clean up and it is almost 8pm. LONG DAY for both of us. Kasila has been great, especially with me being sick, however she really needs to be able to get out and do more than I have been able to do.

Around 5:30pm, I called Scott and ended up taking him some dinner. He was running a truck, mainly for light since it's still the dark season. With the approval of Chief, Kasila and I joined Scott in the Rescue truck for dinner. Kasila loved watching the "vater" at work. There were still pocket of heat and little flames would flare up, but they were mostly just making sure everything was out. It was interesting to watch and good to get out of our house.

A pic I took from Facebook that someone posted of the fire this morning.

KTUU news - about 10 am.

No one was injured, but it was a total loss.

Christmas Break/New Years

We had a nice relaxing break…

Kasila decided that she prefers to run around with only her diaper on.

She was playing veterinarian and combing her horse's tail.

We helped with a program called Santa Cops and Heroes. This is where cops and firefighters and their families deliver presents to elderly people on Christmas and do some safety checks. We helped sort the packages and then actually deliver. Kasila was really into helping sort.

Scott worked during the day on Christmas Eve so we went to visit.

Christmas morning!

Family photo after Santa Cops and Heroes.

Kasila likes to play with my hair.

Playing with her new Legos.

Sledding! We have a small hill on the side of our house, which is a perfect sledding hill for her.
 She loved it!
